How long does a session take?
Treatment times vary depending on the treated area. Smaller areas such as lip or underarm can take as little as 5 to 15 minutes, while larger areas like the legs can take 45 to 60 minutes. Your therapist will give you a more accurate time estimate at our consultation.
Is there any downtime?
Downtime is minimal with Candela laser hair removal. Some clients may experience mild redness or slight sensitivity in the treated area for a few hours after the session, similar to a light sunurn. This typically settles quickly. You can return to normal daily activities immediately after treatment, but we do advise avoiding sun exposure, heat, and strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours post-treatment.

Before Your Treatment
To get the best results and minimise any risk, please follow these steps before your appointment:
- Shave the area to be treated 24 hours before your session.
- Avoid waxing, threading, or clucking for at least 4 weeks prior, as the laser needs the hair root to be present
- Avoid sun exposure and fake tan for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
- Do not apply perfume, deodorant, lotions, or creams to the area on the day of your appointment.
- Avoid blood-thinning medications or alcohol 24 hours before if possible (consult your GP if on prescribed medication)
- Make sure you have had a patch-test during your consultation.
After Your Treatment
- Avoid sun exposure and always apply SPF30+ to treated areas
- Do not use sunbeds for at least 2 weeks after treatment
- Avoid heat, including hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and intense exercise for 24 to 48 hours
- Do not wax, thread, or pluck between sessions. Shaving is fine.
- Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser if the skis feels sensitive
- You may notice hir shedding from the treated area over the following 1 to 3 weeks, this is completely normal and a sign the treatment is working
